ENRICHMENT GROUPS Social Club:  This group will consist of a maximum of 5 children and will meet 1x per week for 45 minutes.  The group will run for 6 weeks.  Children will participate in various sensory based activities and other fun activities which will target skills needed in everyday life such as greeting, sharing, turn taking, circle time behaviors and lining up.  Behavior modification techniques will be used to reinforce appropriate responses during group participation. Social Connections:  This group will consist of a maximum of 5 children and will meet 1x per week for 45 minutes.  The group will run for 6 weeks.  The group will target areas to help children develop necessary skills to form friendships and a better awareness of self.  Children will use games and crafts as a medium to help develop confidence, improved self esteem and appropriate ways to communicate with their peers.  The Grasshoppers: This group will consist of a maximum of 6 children and will meet 1x per week for 45 minutes.  The group will run for 6 weeks.  The group will target areas to help improve their confidence level, self esteem, and ability to take chances.  Children will participate in games and crafts and will be provided with opportunities which will encourage them to take chances, when participating in various activities which they are not familiar. Therapeutic Arts and Crafts:  This group will consist of a maximum of 8 children and will meet 1x per week for 45 minutes.  The group will run for 6 weeks.  Children will use various art media.  They will work with art materials and complete various projects weekly.  Children will work on developing fine motor patterns, visual motor skills, organizations skills, following directions, attending skills, and social skills as they participate in this group.  Handwriting Program Level 1:  This group will consist of a maximum of 6 children and will meet 1x per week for 45 minutes.  The group will run for 10 weeks.  “Handwriting Without Tears” (upper case letters and numbers) will be used in conjunction with strengthening activities for hands in order to strengthen intrinsic muscles and upper body strengthening to improve posture for adequate handwriting.  Parent support to assist and/or encourage their child in the completion of weekly home assignments will be an integral part of this program.  Handwriting Program Level 2:  This group will consist of a maximum of 6 children and will meet 1X per week for 45 minutes.  The group will run for 10 weeks.  “Handwriting Without Tears” (lower case letters and upper case review) will be used in conjunction with general strengthening activities.  Additionally letter placement and spacing will also be addressed.  As the level 1 parent support is very integral part of this program.  Children will be required to complete weekly homework assignments.
